The global call to address plastic pollution is driving companies to reduce single-use plastics in their supply chains. With around 300 million tons of plastic waste generated annually, of which a significant portion is single-use, businesses face increasing pressure from governments, consumers, and environmental advocates to adopt sustainable practices.
One key approach involves redesigning packaging materials. Many companies are transitioning from plastic to sustainable alternatives like paper, compostable bioplastics, or reusable packaging systems, but that can be tricky when you’re dealing with liquids.
Another strategy is the elimination of unnecessary plastic. While retailers are removing things like plastic cutlery, straws, and shrink wrap, the B2B sector is also busy beavering away packaging in recyclable or biodegradable materials and looking at ways to offer customers compelling reasons to buy in bulk or use refills.
Consumer pressure and regulatory action, such as the UK’s ban on certain single-use plastics, have accelerated these changes, and we’re doing what we can to join the march. Reducing single-use plastics not only aligns our own core business – natural, non-chemical, and plant-based cleaning products - with sustainability goals, but it also enhances our brand reputation in an increasingly eco-conscious market.
Our ‘hero’ product – an anti-bacterial cleaner & sanitiser - hits the mark on a number of levels:
It’s plant-based and 100% eco-friendly
It’s a 2-in-1 product that cleans and sanitises at the same time
It’s a concentrate which dilutes at 1:100 – the best on the market. Just 10ml makes one whole litre, so you’ve effectively negated the need for 9 extra bottles.
The 5-litre drum we sell it in is made from recycled plastic [we’re working on the cap!]
The other products in our portfolio [Degreasers, Metal Cleaner, etc] are purchased by our customers in either 5-litre, 25-litre, 220-litre or even in 1,000-litre IBCs, meaning we rarely package anything up in single-use plastics.
We’re committed to this because it actually fits with the narrative we have around our eco-products, and add to that the fact that everything is made here in good old Britain, we are confident we can hold our heads high on the issue of reducing single-use plastics.
So, come join us on this journey and let's work together to kick single-use plastics to the curb [metaphorically speaking!]
